This is the juicy center of the suit. Spratz is a rollicking bar rocker about young love matured with grace over challenges. The songs I write about my wife are often the songs best appreciated by people around me and as a result often the ones I appreciate most.
I'm very proud of the guitar riff and the song structure. This is essentially the only guitar solo on the EP, and it gets right to the point like a nice grunge boy.
The song was meant to showcase my growth as a vocalist and as a songwriter and I believe I have achieved that here to a more than satisfactory result. I'm damn proud of those harmonized guitars too. They're like garlic. Every dish is better with 'em
Lyrically the song is a conversation between two people, sharing thoughts and concerns as one does with growth. The chorus is the impassioned cry of love that at the end of the day things are alright because the two people are actually quite complimentary for one another.
The artwork was done for me as a reward for donating to The Yellowhammer project. I'm watching two ducks make out and I'd like to think I'm thinking about Zoewy while sighing at the young duck love.
lyrics
Extremes are middle ground, jumping at every sound and yelling over nothing
I've got to keep it calm, there's such a fine line between life and what I'm breathing
at least we're having fun, we've got each other and that's worth something
It's worth an awful lot, I'd say it's worth the time that we've invested
Why should we pay the world mind when we're harmless on our own dime?
Know when we get out of hand the world understands, girl, we're golden when we lick the platter clean
You don't care how we look, just if we're happy, man, that's no problem
I'm glad we had this talk, I wanted to let you know the way that I'm looking at things
So let us drink to health, the grass is greener when my head is spinning
I may forget myself if that's a cry for help I hope no one hears it
(Clean)
Why should we pay the world mind when we're harmless on our own dime?
Know when we get out of hand the world understands, girl, that we're golden when we lick the platter clean
Though we may not have a plan, know I've got your hand, and I know that you won't let go of me
